Job Search Support Workshops
MAR 1: Topic: "Finding a Job When Your Past is Not So Hot": Some job seekers find themselves in a long job search due to decisions or events in their past. While certain situations are harder to overcome than others, knowing how to take the right steps will help job seekers find work faster. An employer based DVD will kick off learning the techniques that work!
MAR 8:Topic: "Re-Establishing Positive Credibility": The lack of credibility is a strong barrier to employment. For job seekers credibility can be lost in many ways. Different lost credibility scenarios will be examined and ways to overcome them. Discover ways to rebuild your credibility; it can be done.
MAR 15: Topic: "Juggling a Job Search and Other Responsibilities": It's been said that finding a job is a full time job in itself. With the added stress, tension, and feelings of doubt make a bad situation seem even worse. Find out how job seekers have successfully continued on with their job search when other life responsibilities seem to be overwhelming.
MAR 22: Topic: "Realistic Expectations": Employers are seeing a tidal wave of applications from job seekers who are not suitable for the jobs that they apply for. Often times, job seekers base their search on their dream job and not what they can realistically do. It's ok to dream and work towards that dream. Discover the fastest route to employment based on your current situation.
MAR 29: Topic: "Dress for Success on the Inside": Hiring personnel are putting greater emphasis on job seekers' enthusiasm, energy, good health, fitness, and overall well being. U.W. Extension Nutrition Advisors Jan Safranski and Mary Jo Liesch will provide healthy tips that can help job seekers get noticed by an employer.
