WHAT'S HAPPENING |
Department of Workforce Development's Veterans Program providing services to
employers in recruiting and hiring Veterans, and in meeting Federal Contractor
requirements. The Local Veteran's Employment Representative (LVER) can help local employers find Veteran Candidates for their job listings, help with information on Federal Contractor requirements and reporting, and helping employers on re-employment rights of returning Veterans.

The WIA (Workforce Investment Act) Program provides access to workers affected by plant closings, mass layoffs, completing training programs and the general public seeking work. For more information: Call 920-448-7210, 920-448-7205 or 920-448-7214
Wisconsin Works (W-2 provide access to workers from the W-2 program. W-2 is a work-based program that provides services to help families obtain and maintain employment. W-2 may help with child care or get a Job Access Loan to assist with employment costs for persons meeting eligibility.
Food Share Employment and Training Program (FSET) is a work program which assists clients in looking for work and obtaining a High School Diploma or GED certificate and also may be able to help in obtaining a specific skill. Persons qualifying for this program may be eligible for a transportation allowance or childcare while in training or seeking employment.
The Refugee Services Program Provide access and services to employers who are considering on hiring and developing a diverse workforce. These and other services available from your local Job Center provide creative alternatives to traditional recruitment methods. Wisconsin Managed Care Enrollment Specialist Project: The Wisconsin Managed Care Enrollment Specialist Project promotes health programs to assist low-income families with appropriate referrals and face-to-face support. The Enrollment Specialist provides public outreach and education about Medicaid Managed Care to community-based agencies, advocacy groups, or any group with an interest in the Medicaid population. One of the reasons we are able to carry out this goal is our solid knowledge and experience with health care programs for low-income families and Medicaid Managed Care. The Medicaid Managed Care Enrollment Specialist Project provides the following services: · Education related to managed care and the HMO enrollment process. · Assist clients with Medicaid Managed Care enrollment, HMO changes, or exemptions from Medicaid Managed Care enrollment when appropriate. · Education related to client rights, responsibilities, and the complaints or grievance process. · Education related to available health programs for low-income individuals and families.
